The ChipReaders app
Everything you can do on the site, but in your pocket. Handy at the moment you need it.
The app is available for Android through the Play Store. There is no App Store app for iPhone yet; the web version works fully there and you can add it to your home screen with the share button, after which it opens like a normal app. In both cases it is the same data as on the site.

1
Android: get the app from the Play Store
Search for ChipReaders in the Play Store or use the button on this page. Log in with the same account as on the site; your animals and reports are there straight away.

2
iPhone: add the web version to your home screen
Open the web version in Safari, tap the share button and choose Add to Home Screen. It then opens like an app, with its own icon and without an address bar. There is no App Store app yet.

Turn on notifications
In the app you can turn on push notifications for missing animals in your area. That works alongside the WhatsApp channels per province; you choose what you want to receive.
What you can do with the app
Look up a microchip number, manage your own animals, report a disappearance with a photo, report a found animal, view the map with reports near you and update your details.
It is the same data as on the site: what you change in the app appears on the site immediately and the other way round.
Why an app and not just the site
At the moment you find an animal or lose one, speed counts. With the app the search field is open straight away, you can attach a photo directly from your camera and you see the map with your own location on it.
If you would rather not install an app, the site works just as well on your phone. The app is a convenience, not a requirement.
