ChipReaders for vets
You do the chipping. We do the registering and the findability, on behalf of your client or by the client themselves.
With a practice account you register a microchip right after implanting it, on behalf of the owner. The owner then gets access to manage their own details. You can also sign up as a chip reader so people with a found animal can find you, and there is an API to create registrations from your own practice software.

1
Create a practice account
You register as a business. The dashboard shows the registrations you have made, and you can transfer an animal to the owner with a transfer code.
-
2
Register the microchip on behalf of the owner
Enter the microchip number, the species and the owner details. The owner receives an invitation to log in and complete or change their details. That way the registration is in their name, not the practice name.

Sign up as a chip reader
Practices have a chip scanner. By signing up you appear on the map and in the overview, and people with a found animal can find you. Taking part is free and you set yourself what is visible and within what distance you receive alerts.

Connect your practice software, if you want to
There is an API to look up a microchip number and create a registration from your own system. Request a key through the API documentation; we will then look with you at which calls you need.
Why register in the owner name
A microchip that stays in the practice name does not help a finder: they then call you instead of the owner, even years later and even if the animal has since moved.
That is why registration here works so that the owner gets access and can keep their phone number up to date. You do not have to do the admin afterwards.
What you see from your side
The dashboard lists the registrations you have made, with the status of each animal. If you transfer an animal to the owner, it leaves your management but stays visible in the list.
If an animal you registered is later reported missing, you see that when you look up the microchip number.
